I remember November 4, 1980, the year when Ronald Reagan won
the Republican election for President of the United States.
At the time, my women friends and I all said that our
country was moving backward in the area of Women’s Rights – and we were right!
Fast forward to November 4, 2014 and what has changed?
You may say that it has not only moved backward, but it’s
taken a quantum leap into the Dark Ages with the election results this week –
not only with Women’s Rights, but LGBT Rights, Children’s Rights, Non-White Rights,
and more.
How did we let it happen?
Apathy?
Ignorance of the issues?
Too much money in the 1% and not enough in the 99%?
It’s done and all we can do now is decide how to keep it
from continuing, or happening again. Will people never bother to look at
history and learn from it?
If you share my sorrow over this week’s elections, please
make a commitment to yourself, your family, your community, your world to fight
for changes in the future.
We used to be a great country, and we still can be again.
Make your voices heard!
I blow you a kiss!
Fanny
